Project Management

One of my duties at EarthSky Studios is to manage the projects. We typically have a half a dozen or more new projects going at one time along with a steady stream of maintenance work.

We follow a process that is currently common among web design and development firms. This process is geared toward keeping projects on track in terms of scope, budget and deadlines. I keep everything moving along through meetings, phone calls, documentation and emails with clients.

One of the most interesting, but also the most challenging aspects of the project management is adjusting to the variety of clients and contact people we have – from entrepreneur to government employees to employees of large corporations all the way up to CEOs and everywhere in between. In the same way I try to gear the designs I do the unique needs of my clients, I also gear my approach to managing the projects to their specific needs and personalities. I find this challenge to be both interesting and enjoyable.
